AC Plastics Industrial and Product Photography

An up-to-date image library combining people, machinery and production on site with controlled studio photography of finished plastic components.

AC Plastics needed to replace older imagery with a current, consistent view of the business. The new photography had to cover the people, machinery, manufacturing environment and products that together explain what the company does.

Rifkin & Livesey combined a day of photography at the AC Plastics site with controlled studio photography and retouching for selected components. The result was a versatile set of contextual industrial images and carefully presented product photographs, created for use across the website, printed materials and social media.

The Brief

The original enquiry asked for approximately 20 photographs covering the products AC Plastics produces, its machinery and the wider manufacturing environment. Behind that practical shot list was a broader need: the company did not have sufficiently up-to-date imagery for its marketing.

The new photographs therefore needed to do more than document a series of objects. They had to give AC Plastics a coherent visual library that could represent the business across its website, printed materials and social channels.

Photographing the Business in Context

The on-site shoot covered people, machinery, production and products within the working factory. Wider views established the manufacturing environment, while closer compositions concentrated on the practical work, tools and details within it.

Bringing these elements together gave the finished collection useful context. The photography shows not only the components AC Plastics produces, but also the people, equipment and working environment behind them.

Controlled Studio Product Photography

Selected parts were then taken back to the studio for a separate series of product photographs. Controlled lighting and simple, bold backgrounds allowed the shape, surface and detail of each component to be shown without the visual complexity of the factory setting.

Each studio image was retouched individually, creating clean standalone product photography to sit alongside the more contextual industrial work.

A Flexible Image Library

Combining on-site and studio photography gave AC Plastics two complementary kinds of imagery. The factory photographs provide an authentic view of the business and its manufacturing environment, while the studio work gives individual products a more focused presentation.

Together, the images replaced older material with a current visual record of the company and created a consistent bank of photography for the AC Plastics website, printed marketing and social media.
